They're pretty cool vintage tanks.

Why does this have to happen when I'm broke? On top of it, it's local to me. This is like dangling a carrot in front of a starving horse.

I own two right now. If I was local to this guy I would buy at least six more! When ruses tanks are cleaned and polished they look awesome. When I was a kid my father and uncle had about 75 of these going in my uncles basement for show guppies. They even had some of the belt driven piston air pumps. Very cool.

That's a whole bunch!
I like them. Just got one and trying to get a second one. When I was a kid this was all there was. I remember when tanks came out with glass to glass edges. It was a big deal. Now these are cooler..lol.
Here's my thread about the little one~

I think the old Metaframe look great and they clean up well, but they may have some problems. Check them out carefully before you buy.

The slate bottoms can go bad after many years. Slate is a rock that forms in layers and sometimes they can separate or crack, causing the bottom to fail. Always check the bottom to make sure it's not damaged.

The cement used in the tanks was a tar like compound. Over many years it can dry out and look grey and turn to powder. As long as it still supports the class and bottom, you can reseal the tank. If it's really gone, you have a major job of taking the tank apart, and rebuilding it.
