CRS group order
Who wants some? I'm putting together a group order for CRS from Brian's Tropicals they 10 for $50. It's $25 for overnight shipping w/ live arrival guarantee. I would receive them and pick a central location for everybody to meet and pick-up their shrimp. I'm thinking of putting the order in on January 8th. Please post here with what quantity you want. Everbody who order splits shipping equally. Orders and payment should be to me by the 7th. Add $1.80 (for Paypal fees...) if paying by Paypal to dan@tsiinc.biz If you Paypal, please put your PT screen name in the message. Thanks!
Dan O e.g. assuming 5 orders, your total would be $56.80 paid via Paypal If we order enough and we can swing a little better price, I would reimburse everyone accordingly at pick-up. |

I read your reply on the other thread. The shrimp stolen? That is crazy. However I called Terre Quatics yesterday and he mentioned he had CRS (or rather red bee shrimp, same thing?) again and of course I forgot to ask if they were for sale. So you might want to try again and see if he will work our for ya.

Terre Quatics definitely has them. He has a tank full of them, he has adults and juveniles for sale. He also had Amano Shrimp last week for $1.69 each - that is crazy cheap. Give Dick a call and see what he has for sale. The CRS are about `$7.00 for adults and about half that for Juveniles.
Good luck. Matt |

OK... I got ahold of the owner. What he calls "crystal reds" are cherry shrimp. His "red bee shrimp" are what we (and the rest of the universe?) call "Crystal Red Shrimp" or CRS. He has a tank full of cherry shrimp for sale. He does have some CRS, but he is raising them for his daughter, and not for sale. Maybe it's just me... but each of the three different times I've talked to this guy over the past year or so he's been a condescending dick.
So this is still alive if anyone is interested.... |

Aren't cherry shrimp the best for algae control?

I have a 5g FULL of cherry shrimp, the only plant is java moss, I don't dose it, and I was constantly pulling out hair algae (or thread ?) that the RCS won't touch. I never fed them for the first several weeks until I realized that they weren't eating the algae at all. Finally the java moss exploded and it must be outcompeting the algae, because it's completely gone, but I;m sure it wasn't because of the RCS. So from my experience RCS just don't eat algae, or maybe the appetite for algae varies between strains of RCS!?
