Best lighting for a planted 2.5 gallon

What's the best light? Can I use a goose neck lamp or something?

I'd say as a cheapest way to light your tank it to get the goose neck lamp like you said and put a 10 watt CFL inside. But, make sure that the CFL is 6500k.

Take a look at the Beamswork fixtures for low light.

I have 2.5g which use two work lamps from HD with 2-13w, 6500k bulbs. I think the lamp size is 9".

Works very well.

If you can mount it a Fluval 13 watt fixture is pretty good. Also beamworks is a good led option. Also Catalina Aquarium has some small nano fixtures that would work as well.
