MTS...quite the sickness lol

I tell ya, the more tanks the more fish the better the quality of fish (through breeding) the diversity alone you can keep is overwhelming. But so is the maintenance. I have friends with over 40 tanks each and they struggle with water changes alone. Some will do 5 tanks a day others will devote an entire day each week to changing over all of the tanks. It's crazy, my woman would never allow such a thing lol. But it's a great hobby and I can't wait til I have a house where I cn build Nd personalize a fish room in my basement. Right now I have an apartment and 4 tanks a 5.5, 10, 55, and a 60 ( the 60 isn't filled yet) and with those 3 tanks one of which is planted and the 60 will be as well I have a hard time keeping up with the maintenance already. But I'm spread thin all around my house only 2 are hear a faucet for my python so I still rely on buckets. It's a mess at times. Once everything's in one area with readily accessible water and power and easily controllable heat...possibilities are endless. Didn't have any questions just felt like ranting about MTS. Because I have it and already want more tanks lol. At least a dozen more....so many species....

Multiple Tank Syndrome sounds like a labour, but a labour of love! New Tank Syndrome is also a chore, sometimes daily water changes while the whole thing stabilizes, avoiding algae and bacterial blooms and mini cycles each time more fauna is introduced or dies or when fauna is added or dies or is re-arranged...yikes!

Default MTS...quite the sickness lol

Yep it's all a pain. I'm doing the daily water changes on my 5.5g right now. Set up a week ago almost and it's incredibly overstocked ATM. I have 28 1/2" fry in it. 6 are going to BAP at my club next month tho. So MTS is a snail? What kind? I can never figure out these abbreviations. Still trying to figure out what GBR is. See it on forums alot. After googling I pull up Great Barrier Reef fish lol

I hear that it can be cured sometimes by a product known as "wife" or "husband", but results may vary.

Yeah my wife has tried curing mine all she can do is make the effects less intrusive. I'm allowed 4 tanks and she doesn't give me any time to clean them lol

I take my wife to all the lfs around and make sure she sees all the flora and fauna i would like to keep and stay until I find somthing she likes then spend weeks convincing her we need a new tank to make it work. It works about one in 20 times I have found a way around my only hope... I am truely afflicted and love every minute :banghead:
