Black Spray Paint on PVC and tank cleaning

I've seen where folks have sprayed their PVC to make them either black or blue using Krylon but one thing I've not seen mentioned is later down the road when time to clean the tank and there's some dirt or mild algae on the painted surface how have you cleaned it off without scratching or scratching off the paint ?

Will kitchen scrub pads used to get algae off items in the tank not remove the paint from these sprayed PVC items ?

Thanks

You could just buy: http://www.irrigationdirect.com/irri...gs-schedule-40

Maybe lowes? not sure as I have never worried about the color, I just use rocks/wood/gravel/plants to cover up.

Nice link. It actually says pvc and not abs. Perfect for a diy overflow if one is worried about paint flaking off. I doubt if a local home improvement center will carry it. I know home depot doesn't, I am an ex-plumbing associate. Lowe's does sometime carry odd and/or rare stuff that Home Depot doesn't but its a long short for black pvc. It's just to uncommon for the most part.

What dirt? What algae? It isn't easy to see on the dark surface!

Wipe down with a soft cloth, then a paper towel then maybe a sponge, maybe a Mr. Clean sponge next until it comes off. A paper towel can get off a lot of grunge, they are more abrasive then you would think.

I don't know why I find this funny - I certainly mean no disrespect to you or your profession, but it totally sounds like something a mobster would say! LOL.

I think I'm going to have to use this next time I go through customs. See what they say.
