just saying hi

Hello,

Pretty new to this forum and to planted tanks. Here's my 125gallon. It's under transformation into a fully planted tank. I have some minutia quadrafolia and peacock moss on the way. Thanks for looking.

nice discus. im going the other way from fully planted tank to discus.
im waiting for discus to arrive in few weeks.

i was wondering how are u able to vacuum the substrates when u got plants planted?
or do u just remove water for WC without siphoning substrates?

Right now I vac all the open substrate with wc's and I move all the different driftwood to get under about once a month. It looks lush, but the majority of the substrate is actually still open for cleaning. Besides the discus I have a good clean up crew of loaches and cories. Since they are all adults I feed sparingly 2x a day. I change 40% water about once a week. This tank is over filtered with an off name canister rated for a 225 gallon, a AQ 70, a 40 gal sponge, and a uv rated for a 150 gal.
I've been tempted to let the wc go longer because when I test ammonia, nitrite, and nitrates are still non existent after as long as 10 days. But being it's a discus tank I really don't want to push my luck too much.
