Livestock that can be kept as colonies?

Hi everyone,

I think I found a post regarding keeping stock as colonies months and months ago, and I can't seem to dig it up...

I'm interested in what stock folks keep as colonies? In which the parents breed and the offspring are left in the same tank? I've done this with shrimp, danios, white clouds, endlers/guppies, cories, even platties.
