Where do you get your stats?

So I wanted to find the sweet spot for all the residents in my 20 gallon. Trying to find information on each species and compile it in an Excel project is proving a bit difficult. Many sources have vastly different information for the same plant or fish. I'm using sites like Liveaquaria, Petsmart and Aquaticcommunity. So I wonder where others get their information from?

Thanks!

Use the plant and fish profiles on this site as a start. Its is nearly impossible for every site you find to have the same info as others. Inquiring about particular fish or plants on forums such as this would get you info from experience vs seeing stats that a website says it should be. Not everything on the web is true but it can be taken into consideration. There are some non-chain lfs that have some aquarium enthusiast that have some good knowledge but it too varies.

BTW, I wouldn't trust petsmart for any information, lol.

I usually get my information from searchin all forums. At least that way it comes from actual Hobbiests and not someone just looking to sell fish. IMO

I get my info from forums, one in particular that I have found has pretty good info on freshwater tropical fish. Not sure if I would be breaking any rules posting it here. Will send you a pm with the forum.

Thanks, I'm really enjoying that site. Actually broke my RAOK hunt obsession for the week.

You can compile a consensus among various forums. I would chose folks who have keep the species and done well with it. Then see if this advice seems reasonable.

There's a lot folks do NOT know, but then again, there's a lot of good observations out there as well.
