arduino controlled aquarium

Just wanted to start a thread when hopefully people can imput knowledge in to the arduino controller. I am looking in to setting up my led lights with a sun up sun down function. I have noticed there are few people who have had luck. If there is any one out there who could help me out with a sketch it would be great.

As you already know, there are quite a few people that have already done this before, so you may want to do a quick search for relevant threads that might be able to assist you

In any case, it will be difficult to assist you unless you have some idea of what you want/what equipment you are using.

jarduino, his older version is free. That should give you a solid starting point.

There are quite a few of those in the DIY or Lighting sections, my own included. You will, however, require some hardware other than the arduino to make any of them work, I assume you have some idea how to hook it up?

Darkblade is right, if you don't have at least some idea what the electrical part of your project looks like, much more specific help will be difficult to give.

Edit: Most light controller sketches will have up / down fading even if not mentioned specifically.

Arduino is a great diy platform..

I;m working on my first project.. an arduino auto doser.. next project may be a sunrise/sunset function. or a temperature monitor/auto shut off.

Default arduino controlled aquarium

I got my auto doser working last night! All 3 pumps now run sequentially at a set time. Now I just have work out the timing (milliseconds vs ml) which shouldn't be to hard. It's all soldered up and almost good to go!

I find a wood box for 3$ at the dollar store for mounting it in... a little bigger than I would like but for the price it will do the trick for now

Have you seen the new BeagleBone Black? It's similar to the Raspberry Pi (an embedded LInux microcomputer), but has way more (48 i think? might be wrong) IO pins, which be much better for adding lots of sensors and controlling tanks, and its only $45.
