My new order of RCS is a massacre in a box, I need some cheering up

Ordered 20 RCS a little while ago, I've ordered from The Shrimp Farm before and they have come in perfect condition. But not this time. At least 6 are dead, I don't even know how many are in there. A couple shrimp are in pieces as if the bag was violently shook. The delivery came late and the bag was too warm, I don't know what happened to it. Reported it to them for their DOA policy, hopefully they will fix things. But still its just kinda depressing, I really looked forward to having those little guys. I'm going to try and save the survivors, but some still might not make it.

This is an example of things happening while en route one has no control over. Sorry for your loss. DOA always sucks!

sorry to hear of your loss. Shipping is often stressful and deadly...

Well, shipping is stressful. No doubt about that. I have had very few DOA shipments though.

In my very very absolute worst situation, i recieved a crushed and soggy box one time. upon opening, one of two shrimp bags were open where there were 10 crystals. 1 was DOA and 9 others were listless. Due to the cold of winter and the box insulation being breached, the temps in the box likely attributed to their slower metabolism. As such, the remaining 9 were placed into slow drip and the few that appeared dead actually came to... this was likely the longest drip at nearly 9 hours but it showed how resilient these little guys are. Unforeseen things happen and it wasnt the fault of the seller in my particular case. Just try to remain positive

I feel your pain. I had a similar event with a different company, but they sent the shrimp very poorly. Twice.

That's how I learned to ship. After enough orders came in to me via crappy conditions, I had enough and decided to do everything possible to send mine out in the best conditions I could- even if I occasionally lost money doing it. Sounds silly, but it gives me peace of mind knowing that I do everything I can for the highest chance of survival.

Thats really nice of you Soothing, maybe I'll buy some from you sometime . Yea, my shrimp pretty much got cooked and shook up. I cant believe how warm the bag was when I pulled it out, if its very warm to the touch thats too warm! I really don't think it was the store's fault, they shipped them the same as last time. But this time it came through UPS instead of FedEX. My boyfriend said the guy ran across our yard, handed him the box and ran off, and he was pretty late too. Haven't gotten many packages after 7 pm...

That's exactly how UPS did me - same shrimp from the same vendor. Although the bag wasn't warm to the touch.

3 DOA out of 10. One of the DOAs was broken into pieces - I wondered if it was partially eaten by the other shrimp.

I've counted 5 of the 7 living RCS that went into the tank yesterday.

RCS are like cockroaches. I wouldn't worry about getting another order. You will have too many soon.
