ryans fluval chi first attempt at dsm

Ok so this is my first attempt at a dsm and iwagumi style tank. So life for this tank started about two months ago when I seen a fluval chi for sale at my lfs for $10 it was missing the light and filter and was just the rimless tank. So i bought it and it sat in the closet for two months why i tried to figure out what to do with it. On 4/21/13 I finally setup the had scape and planted all the glosso. And we will see where it goes from here. I still need to get a filter for this tank any suggestions?

Tank: fluval chi 5g
Substrate: safety sorb
Filtration: ?
Hardscape: dove grey stone from local stone yard
Lighting: 23w cfl 6500k
Flora: Glossostigma
Fauna: eventually shrimp

tank as of 4/21/13

tank as of 4/25/13 add a rock and slopped substrate a little more add some more glosso from my main tank

Looks good so far. I too have a chi with just the tank. I have the 6.6 tall one. I like the shape of the tanks

week 3

I really was tempted to fill it today because i wanna rescape my 20g but i resisted the urge. I did re arrange the rocks in the front i was afraid the glosso would over take them. In the process i did mess up some of the glosso but oh well it will grow back.

birds eye view

Eheim 2211 or Zoo med? And you can get a nice pair of cheap lily pipes to fit the iwagumi scape!
