hair grass problem


i have started my planted tank about a week and half ago and i notice this brown thing growing on the side and front of my tank. i also found it on my hair grass! does anybody know what this is?

I also noticed a small brown inner stain on the glass close to the dwarf hairgrass in my tank.

Probably diatoms. It's pretty common in new tanks. It should disappear on it's own. It will get worse before it gets better. Water changes will help but may prolong the cycle.

Could it be brown algae?
It's easy to wipe away but It came back in a 2 days

It's possible. Typically diatoms wipe away easily, brown algae does not. Diatoms are prevalent in new setups. Diatoms also grow quickly. Everything seems to point to diatoms. Ever hear the phrase, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck.

I don't think it's a duck though. Ducks have beaks and feathers. I think it's diatoms. Which will go away quickly. No reason to even try and clean them off, except maybe on the front glass.

It looks like diatoms to me especially if it comes off easily. They will just disappear after a while. Mine took about two months. I didn't use anything just kept cleaning it off then a water change.
