Low-med tech 10g

I don't have a hood yet, so I am up to all kinds of options. I want to be able to grow a variety of plants, but want to avoid high light level plants because I don't want to have to get a co2 system for a 10g tank. I have been looking at the fugeray. Looks nice, I kind of like it. But I am worried about the light being too intense. I'm open to all kinds of options. Any opinions are welcome please and thanks in advance

the fugeray would work ok if you can raise it 13-15in above the substrate. if you need one to sit on the tank the marineland double bright is your only option that i know of.

Well I believe the fugeray has clamps that are a few inches above the tank right? I was thinking of using a versa top and setting the lamp on top? I could go with a 2 outlet hood route and use cfl's though.. Idk.

I've got a 5.5 gallon shrimp tank with a glass canopy and fugeray 1 on it. I just use the feet provided with it and the lights not to bright. I haven't had any bad algae outbreaks and i don't use C02.

If it is you can always put a piece of window screen on the bottom of the light to reduce it some.

Ah that's a great idea! I'm planning on having a floating plant, just not sure what yet.

Waterspite or frogbit should work well.
