Found a random baby fish!

So I have a 1 gallon bowl loaded with plants I got from someone (dead and alive) and a bunch of snails. Well tonight I noticed something moving in it and it happened to be a baby fish! I am amazed this little guy made it in here with just dechlorinated water and a bunch of floating plants (no filter no water changes).

I am wondering if anyone could ID the little guy my guess is some kind of cory.
Also what should I do now? How can I properly take care of this little trooper?

Yeah I believe the person that sent me the plants had several pepper cory catfish. I am just shocked that I have had these plants in this same bowl for over a month and just now noticed him. I don't know how old it is or what it is eating. Should I leave him be or do a water change and find something special to feed him?

It might have been an egg that you got. I guess he was ment to be in your charge. Some crushed shrimp pellets and algae wafers would be appreciated.

Okay great I will crush up some algae pellets for Lucky! Do you guys happen to know how long i should wait before introducing him into my tank? My biggest fish in my tank is a pair of neon tetra. Or should I leave him in the bowl for a bit longer?

Leave him in the bowl.

While small, tetras could very well try to nom on him. He shouldn't produce much in the way of waste right now, so the bowl is probably a fine place to grow a bit.

Cories are also very tolerant of colder water, so you can probably get away without heating the bowl.

Okay great yeah I'll get some of the decaying plants and snail poop out of the bowl and hopefully keep him happy.
