sulfathiazole is the best when you cant diagnose the issue well. its effective against both gram negative and gram positive bacteria, and has some efficacy against fungi and protozoans (but not as much as antifungals or antiparasitics respectively).

Malachite green for parasites, protozoan infections, and fungus. Nitrofurazone or Kanamycin for bacterial infections.

Sulfathiazole....
Nitrofurazone....
Kanamycin....

I get confused every time someone asks about meds and all these hard-to-pronounce words get thrown around. Are those the names of med products, or the names of "active ingredients" contained in med products? I never see any of these names at my local stores.

Anyone know anything about the garlic? How much would you put in a 40b and do you crush it real good or just a chunk of however much you need?

okay, well I did a little googling and an article mention soaking their food in the garlic juice?

my krib has a weird white stem/worm (no idea what it really is just what it looks like) growing out of his eye pretty much - well the backside of his eye, because it's bulging out like popeye but I'm not sure it's popeye or just whatever is growing from his eye causing it.

Hey, sorry. I believe there was a discussion on wet web media about garlic that was very helpful. It talked about kent's garlic though, not fresh garlic.

garlic is not the greatest method. get some api and melafix. That will cure it.
Marclynn 2 (spelling) with Melafix works great.

Clean water, and I would recommend doing 20-25% a day for a couple days.
Vacuum the bottom (substrate) as well.

+one.
Melafix, pimafix ,in my view, are near worthless for anything.(maybe minor wound's,scrapes).
Water changes, assuming the GH,KH, are within suitable range for species being kept, are more effective in my expierience.
Minced garlic ,mashed up with equal amount of dry fish food, and a bit of water to form a paste makes good anti-parasite food.
Can freeze the paste, and break of chunk's to feed the fish.
