Bolivian rams and shrimp

Will a bolivian ram kill a shrimp even if it cant fit in its mouth? I have seen mine peck at them, and i no longer ever see any of my shrimp. I know amanos tend to hide but they are no where to be seen.

My Rams do not bother my Amanos. Actually nothing in my tank bothers my Amanos. They bother everyone else at mealtime.

Have you tried dropping something really tasty into the tank? Also how long have you had them? It took a couple weeks for mine to be out and unafraid but now they are out as much as the fish.

I don't know about Bolivian rams but my Serpe Tetras will sometimes hit a large ghost shrimp until he kills it and it breaks into small enough pieces to eat. I recently got 5 amanos and they stay hidden. I saw three under a log today so I'm hoping I still have them all. There are ghost shrimp survivors, they're just smarter about staying out of the way. I stuck half of an algae wafer by the log trying to lure out the amanos. I turned to set the pkg down and when I turned back around I saw the algae wafer just as it disappeared under the log. Looked like the algae wafer grew legs

Thanks for the replies everyone, i have had them for a couple of weeks. I have even picked up my driftwood (the only place they could hide without me seeing them) and still havent seem them. Also have any of you had checkerboard cichlids mine seems quite aggressive to my electric blue ram, i dont think this is normal behavior for them, is it?

I have seen bolvians get VERY aggressive with Angelfish when spawning.

In terms of spawning I can see the bolvians going after the shrimp if they get too close.

Rams its hit or miss with Shrimp. I have had Ram that good in a blood frenzy with shrimp, and other ones are like haiiii shrimp what's going on.... just swimming here... HEY! you grabbed my food! GIBME THAT!!!! and shrimp swims away..

Now keep in mind they can be one or the other, however.... they can change at any given point. From Nice to Hungry....
