DIY CO2 suffice for growing HC?

Planning on getting ADA aquasoil amazonia. I was wondering if a DIY CO2 (yeast recipe) would do the job, as in helping it grow well. Buying a whole system is out of my price range

what size tank? HC is very demanding and does not grow very well in my experience without pressurized injection of CO2.

Its a 20g long, Im looking to get really good lighting and Ive heard ADA Aquasoil Amazonia is the best for HC. I've also looked into a drystart for HC and will probably do that. Having a DIY pressurized CO2 wont work?

I have a 20gal high, medium light. I think I have eco complete topped with black sand. I put in HC 2months ago. I use root tabs. No CO2 until recently. It was going well, very easy to grow. It was not growing fast, but I knew it would eventually cover.
About three weeks ago I started up with DIY CO2. The HC has at least double in size in that amount of time. I think that the entire bottom of my tank will be covered before the end of May.

Wow this is great to hear, congrats too. What ferts do you use? Also what are root tabs, which ones are the best and how do you go about using them? I've seen some stuff about them but nothings really to clear. Thanks for taking the time to help me, do you have any pics? I'm interested to see how yours is coming along : )

I had good success growing hc with MGO covered with eco-complete using DIY co2 but this was in a very small tank (2 gallon).

I have some HC in my low tech tank right now. Stock lighting on an evolve 4 and no CO2 at all. It is growing nicely. Slow, but growing. Seeing new sprouts every day.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll take all of it into consideration. If anyone wants to post a pic of their tank I encourage them to do so as I'm interested in seeing
