Need advice: Manzanita Driftwood

Ok, so I have a very nice piece of manzanita driftwood (MD) in my aquarium.

Aesthetically, it is very nice. But, OMG what a PITA with the production of the MD "white' fuzz" that comes with it. I have had this piece in my display for over two months now and there is no end in sight with the white fuzz phenomenon. Would a nerite snail or two put a dent in it? Otos will not. Amanos will not. Maybe nerites??

Thanks Much!

It will stop eventually but snails certainly love eating that stuff
Plus nerites are cleaning machines
