I get a good scare each time I see one of my Yoyo loaches draped over a branch, mouth open, eyes crossed... then realize he's asleep.

My new red claw crabs spend most of their time (at least when I'm in the room) hiding--so when I spotted a super pale one that didn't run when I leaned over the tank, my first thought was "oh *bleep*". Pulled the shell out, it felt about as heavy as a regular crab and there wasn't any obvious opening where the crab molted--so I finally dug up a flashlight to shine thru it to prove to myself that it was an empty shell.

Had my girlfriend flip out thinking her self-cloning crayfish was dead because it decided to climb up a bunch of thickly packed stem plants and lay there motionless and creepy looking for like 15 minutes lol

she buried her face into her hands going omg omg omg and I got to see it molt in real-time. It was awesome lol, too bad she missed it. Literally flung itself out of there and back onto the substrate looking squishy and pale (:

When Ghosts molt, they look exactly the same. The first time I saw an exoskeleton, I took it out and had to thoroughly examine it to believe that it was a shell.

Every time I see a shrimp molt I think its dying, then it pops out of its shell and swims away.

Good thing about having red cherries is the molts arent close to their color except for the males. But yes I freaked out the first time I saw one lol. I love to watch them all fight of the molt to see who gets to eat it lol. Usually the bright red oldest mom comes over and pushes everyone out of the way and eats it by herself.

The darkest cherries sometimes have orange molts. Ie. Chocolate or dark blues. Those are the only ones I have to take a 2nd glace at! LOL
