What light for 55g?

Hey guys, looking to light a 55g.

I want to grow some floaters, anubias, java ferns, java moss, and possible a couple of those bulbs you can get at petco that send out shoots like crazy.

System will have no co2.

This tank is fish focused, I just want the plants to make the fish feel more at home.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks

There is a new light out called satellite freshwater led plus. It is fully customizable as far as color is concerned. So you can bring out the colors in your fish. I ordered two one for a 20 and one for a 55. According to the par data you should be ok with low-medium light plants. The light is on drs foster&smith. You may find it else where too. Type the light into the search here on this forum and there are a couple threads that will have more info.

Id be willing to do this, I love the shimmer effect.

Any one have success with these?

Id also be interested in cheaper routes - I cant imagine growing anubias in a 55g takes much light.

For a few bucks more than those two you could get a Finnex Fugeray. I really like mine.

I like full spectrum ( this includes red, blue, green) you have said the fish are the focal point of the tank. All white LEDs can wash out the color of your fish. I'm speaking from experience. My rams look at certain angles and when the are in shadows under large leafs. My rams under full sperctrum are incredible!
