Discus spawned

So I have 4 discus in a community tank there're color is amazing and Ty have made 2 pairs. My blood pigeon and blue diamond paired up. And my 2 blue snake skins paired up... The blue diamond and blood pigeon just layer their first eggs. I must be doing something right with them

it takes 48 hours for them to hatch.. if they become wigglers.. you will have a confirmed pair.. right now.. they are unconfirmed..

if your water is soft.. they have good chance of hatching..
the eggs can get fungus really fast and easy..
if they turn white.. the eggs were not fertilized..
if they hatch.. it will be hard for them to live long in a community tank..
so, putting them in their own tank.. bare bottom is best course to raise the fry.. you will also need to feed them baby brine shrimp to get their growth up.. and lots of water change.. discus fry can die pretty easy.. if you get past the 4 weeks of free swimming you are on a good track. (many people have issues at that stage)

if they don't hatch and they keep laying eggs.. you could have 2 females

and last tidbit.. crossing a pigeon blood with a non pigeon blood results in heavily peppered fry, not a desirable trait.. they are health.. just not good looking..
so crossing a PB with PB or NON PB with NON PB..
PB can pepper pretty easy.. its due to genetics and environment.. if they are in a dark environment.. they get really peppered..

hope they hatch for you to get confirmed pair

These two are a for sure male female had a couple local discus keepers come by and they gave me the info. They other set i have are mf too. If they hatch they hatch not looking to do a bare bottom tank yet. They are more for the look in the living room and because i love them

i like how the pair defend each side of their tank.. pretty cool to watch..

enjoy!!

i haven't breed yet.. not getting RO unit, live in apartment.. and water is hard.. plus as a newlywed.. i sold off my discus adults.. so my wife could have more room in apartment..

so gearing up some more shrimp tanks
