ballpark a BPM for a 29gal

I know, I know - there's a ton of variables. I fully intend on dialing things in correctly, but it will take time to slowly titrate up.

I just want to get a starting point, cause I have no idea. If you have a setup anything like mine, I'd love to know what your co2 bubbles-per-minute are.

29 gallon
206 fluval
Ista Max Mix co2 reactor, medium

Thanks!!

I would start with about 2-3 bubbles per second (120-180 bubbles per minute).

If you have a drop checker, that could also help you ballpark your CO2 levels.

Of course, watching your livestock is also a good way.

+1 on watching live stock. Take it up slowly. I typically start a 1bps then bump it up one every week until my fish can't handle it. Watch the tank for a good hour after every adjustment to make sure you fish are happy.

30ppm is a good number.

yep, i've got a drop checker already, but I'm not home 24/7 (got a job and all) - didn't want to come home to a bad situation that's been like that all day.

I'm glad I asked! Cause I would have started MUCH slower, like 1 bubble every 5 seconds... I'da been at this for weeks!! ahahha

thanks again
