Stringy slime after water change?

I've noticed this recently every time after I do a 10-20% water change in my shrimp tank. The white stringy slime forms about 5min after I add in water and disappears after about an hour or so. Initially I thought it was my apple snail being unhappy, but this last time he was just sitting on the bottom of Ye tank eating and slime threads formed near the top anyway. My shrimps don't seem to care too much, though some swim into it and freak out. Any ideas why this is happening? I've had the tank for about a year and just this just started happening now... Thanks!!

8G, RCS, plants, 1 apple snail and a few nerites.

Are you using any water conditioners?

Hmm thats weird maybe coming from your tap or when you do your changes particles get stuck to your snails trails and make them more visible...

I don't any shrimp in my tank yet, and I have this same problem, I noticed it yesterday, I had to do a complete breakdown of my tank (long story) and it's only been back up and running for 2 months and I am seeing this, never had it before.

My tap water is ph 7.4-ish, tds 80, and I've been bringing it up slowly to tds 180 with fluval shrimp mineral liquid. I always treat the water with seachem prime, just following instructions -- 2 drops/gallon.

Seems like a bit of a mystery! Does it bother your shrimps? How long has it been happening?

Doesn't seem to bother my shrimp. I noticed it after topping off the tank so i think i disturbed whatever it was and that's the only reason I noticed it.
