CBS 20 gallon long

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share with you my project with CBS and PBL. I started out with using FFS and it was a disaster. I ended up losing all but 4 shrimp. I started out with SS, SSS, SSS+, and PBL (25 shrimp). Over the course of 4 months there was many die offs. I started consulting with some members here and they suggested quarantining them. I got a bucket; clip on light, small heater, and a sponge filter. I put the shrimp in there with a bunch of moss and left them for about 2-1/2 months. In that time I changed out the substrate to ADA Aquasoil Amazon and only planted Dwarf sag, Green Gecko Crypt, and a bunch of different mosses.

I now have the tank with 2 sponge filters and a small Ehime canister filter. I saved up some cash and made my last ditch effort to raise these shrimp again. I ordered S, SS, SSS, and PBL from AlphaPro’s breeders. I am supper happy on the quality of the shrimp.

Well it has been about a month and they are doing much better. I would like to thank the individuals that helped me in my time of need.

My parameters are

Ph 6.6
Gh 5
Kh 0
TDS 145
Temp 71
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrites 0

I hope you enjoy the pics.

Don

Thanks I had a lot of time to acquire the different mosses and crypt. The Dwarf sag came from my 46 gallon OEBT/PFR tank.

Thanks Idex. I am very weary on my WC days. I triple check all param’s and temp before adding it into the tank.

How are AlphaPro's PBL compared to those S, SS, SSS? Can you see a difference?

The PBL that I got from AlphaPro’s are stunning. The white on them are very solid and vibrant and the black is solid. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Well I just tried to order the 1000 gm pack of the Bee-Shrimp Mineral GH+ and no luck. It must be a good item because it is out of stock. Well I went ahead and ordered the 230 gm container. Looking forward to trying it. Thanks Ron at Alpha Pro’s
