Need help picking T8 lights and planning for the future.

I currently use 2 24' T8 on my 30gal this is a new setup. At my LFSs the only choices I have are zoo-med,hagen, aqueon.

Of the 3 which would you guys recommend, and is it better to get one 6700k and a 2800k ( I think thats the rating on the plant bulbs) or to get both as 6700k?

Also I would love recommendations on sites that ship to Canada for T8 bulbs as my selections is somewhat limited in town.

Based on Hoppy's PAR chart my hagens are kinda low on the par chart the others aren't rated, I have white reflectors on each bulb but I plan to find some sort of mirrored vinyl for the reflectors to help, as I don't imagine the white is doing an amazing job.

I would like to switch to T5HO at somepoint, but is it worth it for me or am I good with what I have? I mean based on the charts without a par meter my par's seem kinda low. I'm getting growth it is slow but it is a new tank, I don't know, am I just over thinking this? I'm trying to shoot for medium lighting.

I use 4 t8s for my 29 gallon and find it a nice balance without having to add CO2. I've tried a variety of spectrums, but generally use 2 plain cool white utility bulbs, one plant bulb, and one randomly chosen at the pet store . I have not noticed any difference in growth rate so my conclusion is that overall light level has a much greater impact that spectrum (though I'm sure exceptions do exist). That said, two bulbs is probably a little low in the light level, but still adequate for many plants. I would advise just trying different combinations until you find color you like. Or you could save a couple bucks a try mixing with bulbs from your local hardware store.

I use 6500K bulbs, and put one 10,000K with them to help tone down some of the yellow cast. Plants do great under this light combo.

I will have to try that combo when I get a chance, right now I'm trying to think of inexpensive way to increase my lighting, Divine was right on my lights I took a look and once things start to really grow my light penetration lower down will be tough.

I would love a another hood for my tank that took T5s. Would dual T5HO be enough or should I get something that can hold more bulbs?

I think if your going for med light 2 T5HO would be more than enough light and as for the K rating I will refer you to this tread it has some good information.
