New York Local Swap Meet/LFS Tour - Saturday April 20, 1pm

Hi Everyone!

With the weather warming and our LFSs stocking up, now is a great time for our next swap meet and LFS tour. The meet will be held, as usual, at the Lower East Side, Manhattan, specifically at the park bordered by Delancey, Forsyth and Chrystie streets. Here is a map of the working tour:

http://goo.gl/maps/Nv3bH

UPDATE: The meet will be on Saturday (4/20) 1pm.

We are also incorporating a discussion theme into the meet. Think of it primarily as a heated discussion where newbies can learn by osmosis. The theme, chosen be popular vote will be emersed plants.

Swap Thread House Rules:

1. Use only one post to indicate your date preference (4/20 or 4/21), items to swap and WTT. Feel free to update it as necessary. Feel free to introduce yourself as well.
2. Be clear and concise when contacting members about swaps.
3. Feel free to repost what you have to trade/swap 3 - 4 days before the date.
4. Voting on both the theme and the date will close on 4/14.
5. Update your post when an item becomes unavailable.

Helpful Hints

1. Keep the spirit of the event in mind, swap whenever possible.
2. Do not bring unclaimed livestock, unless you are willing to give it to an LFS at the end of the tour. Also be mindful of the weather. April is generally a good month for moving livestock.
3. There are arrangements for a rain location and that will be indicated if necessary.
4. Newbies especially, don't be afraid to introduce yourself and ask questions!
5. If you cannot make the meet but have trades outstanding, inform your partner and make alternate arrangements or cancel.

Either day would work for me.

I will update this as it gets closer - but what I will most likely be able to bring/swap:

Plants:
Mayaca fluviatilis - 1 bag of short cuttings (Trail_Mix)
Stargrass (Heteranthera zosterifolia) (salman, Jimmy)
Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides (salman)
Mini fissidens (small amounts) (Jimmy, Chris L.)
Mini pelia (small amounts) (Jimmy, Albert)

NB -
All plants may have snails and possibly very small amounts of algae, although I don't have too much of a problem with it in either tank.

Food:
Golden pearls 200-300 micron
Ken's Green Protein granules, 500 micron.
Microworm starter culture
Vinegar Eel starter (Will - could do a couple more)

What I am looking for:

Dwarf hairgrass, nice sized portion for an approximately 6"x6" area. I have a section planted in my 5.5g with narrow leaf micro sword (Lilaeopsis mauritana) that I am not happy with (too tall - and with mowing it, I don't like it), so I would love to swap it out. I can trade for the microsword (quite a bit as it has grown in densely, probably 3ish pots worth) or other plants, or I am interested in buying the hairgrass. (Think I am covered between a few trades)

Different foods (shrimp and fish).

Indian almond leaves. Alder cones.

Jimmy - do you have a good portion of hair grass? I could definitely bring some stargrass trimmings.
