Where to use my UV?

I have a Gamma 8 watt UV that came with a tank I bought off of CL. I am wondering where you think it would be of most benefit, either on my 65 gal reef tank or my 150 gal FW planted tank.

Use where needed, or switch every now and then. BTW I know nothing about saltwater.

honestly i would put it on your reef tank full time. I have had both fresh and salt and have never used one on fresh or even had the need. (except on our tanks at work) But i would almost not run a reef without one.

Can't help but agree with this commentary.

it would do the most benefit on the SW tank. too much freshwater to see much of an affect. i really think the sterilizers are under powered. i keep one of the large ones on a ten gallon tank and honestly, i dont feel that it is over kill.

on fresh water it does pretty much the same as it does in salt: keeps the water super freaking clean.

UV in FW is a treatment, not a maintenance item like a filter. I cannot speak about SW. No hands on experience there.
