Low tech moss/fissiden tank benefit from ferts/excel?

I'm starting a new tank, a 7.5g cube. I am using LED lights that will be low light. Plants will be simple moss, fissidens, maybe some Java fern or small crypts I have left from a tank tear down.

I was just wondering if a tank setup like this would benefit from dosing ferts and excel? If so, what kinda dosing regime should I be looking at? For some reason, ferts just confuse the heck out of me.

I have a 20g tank setup pretty much like that, lots of different mosses and some green gecko crypts under a finnex fugeray light.

Currently I have: Christmas Moss; Fissidens fontanus; Mini Pellia; Notocyphus lutescens
Bacopa australis; Blyxa Japonica; Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Green Gecko'; Hygrophila 'Tiger'; Limnophila Aromatica

My water volume is 15gallons. I currently dose a mixed diy and seachem ferts as I'm using up the last of my seachem products.

1.5ml Excel
1.5ml Flourish Iron
0.8 ml Flourish Potassium
1.0 ml Flourish Trace
1.5 ml PPS-Pro Macro (currently only potassium nitrate, mono potassium phosphate and magnesium sulfate)

I've had the new plants in for about a month now and while growth is slower than I'd like I am seeing new growth on everything. The Blyxa Japonica was showing new golden leaves under my previous dosage of 0.5 ml of iron so I recently increased the iron dosage to 1.5 ml per day and I'll see if that improves its color. I'll test Saturday to see if I have any residual iron in the tank at this dosage. If I don't I'll continue dosing at that level, if I do have some buildup I'll cut it back to 1.0 ml.

That's cool. I have loads of dry ferts from my high tech 75g. I was dosing PPS. That was pretty easy and I got great results. But now that I'm low tech, it seems like I need to be more careful maybe. I need to learn and understand as before I just used a cookie cutter dosing schedule and it worked...lol

Biggest thing I want is healthy plants and no algae. Not worried too much about fast growth.
