Fluval Co2 diffuser

Currently I have a DIY setup using a diffuser from Fluval http://usa.hagen.com/Aquatic/Waterca...plements/A7542

My question is, Is there any real difference if I use say a ceramic diffuser to this one? I constaly am pumping C02 into it and when the bubble in it starts to get low I change out my mix. Within a few hours its filled back up again. Is the Co2 actually being absorbed or am I just wasting it?

A bell like that is just not very efficient as you will only diffuse up to equilibrium. The ceramic would be better, but best would be a power head or hob or some thing crushing it up. What kind of filter do you have?

If it were me I'd either get a ceramic diffuser or make a diffuser with a power head.
