Toronto water for seawater aquarium?


Did you know anything about suitability of our tap water as the source water for seawater preparation?

When I had my nano reef, I used an Aquarium pharmaceuticals Tap water purifier. Didn't want to take the chance, however they may be other Torontonians out there who use straight tap water? Anyone?

Sorry, R/O or reverse osmosis water is the only way to go or you will have a host of algae isues to deal with. Made that mistake for about a month and paid for it almost a year!
I currently use R/O from Water Depot. Make sure all containers used to hold the water are food grade and will not leach chemicals and syes into the water. A bit of Aragonite gravel in the bottom of the bucket will help prevent this as well.
