90 Gallon redux

90 Gallon in need of a complete overhaul!
I used to have many tanks with many different fish and plants. Now I am down to just this one tank and lately I haven't even had time for it.
Tank: 90 Gal
Filtration: 2 Fluval 304 & 1 Zoo Med power head
Lighting: 2 bulb T8 shop light (plan on picking up a Catalina 3 X 54 T5)
CO2: Pressurized system w/ a 5lb tank. (not currently running)
Substrate: Soilmaster Select (tan)
Fish:
2 Koi Angels
2 Black & White Angels 3/24
1 Glowlight Tetra
2 Siamese Algae Eaters 3/24

Plants:
some cryps, not sure what they are
Water Sprite 3/24
Anubias 3/24
Java Fern 3/25

This is what it has become:

My plans are to get it all cleaned out and all equipment cleaned and replaced if needed. I will be picking up the new lights and getting the co2 tank filled as funds allow. For now I want to get it cleaned up.

did most of the hard work yesterday.
Got it completely empty, took the pic a little premature :

Pressure washed the driftwood:

Spent hours rinsing out a 50# bag of SMS and it still dusted up like mad:

Also cleaned out both filters. They were nasty. Im shocked water was still able to flow thru them. I should have taken some pics, but I really dont want that much evidence against me

First part needs ordered too. I broke the shut-off valve on one of the filters. Nice thing, it is only a $10 part.

Things are now back up and running, albeit on one filter. I will post a pic or 2 when it clears up.

Everything is all cleared up. Went today and picked up some Anubias, some Water Sprite, 2 SAEs and 2 new angels. Also grabbed some Java fern from the Classified section here. It should be here Monday or Tuesday.
Here are a few pics:

Nice transformation! I am digging that piece of wood as well. Did you grab the light yet or still saving up some $?

After seeing your initial pictures, the latest ones were a breath of fresh air for me. No...literally, I felt cleaner and fresher!

Good work with the cleanup. I would heavily plant this tank. Great thing about plants is that with enough of them, they leave few nutrients for anything else to grow (such as algae!). My GF often neglects her planted tank but the thing still looks great simply bc its over planted!

Yeah, the second I was the driftwood I knew I had to have it. I haven't seen it for the last 6 months or so. It was covered in so much hair algae. I almost forgot how much I liked it.

Haven't picked up the lights yet. I dont plan on many "high light" plants for now, so I have some time.

LOL, I feel cleaner too! The fish dont seem to care...

I plan on planting pretty heavily. I just need to decide which plants I want. I know I want some color and I know I want something tall behind the wood.

Anyway, got a box in the mail today!

This was inside:

And now this is how the tank looks:

Here are the 2 new Angels we picked up on 3/24:

So.......kinda hit a snag on my remake and I am now starting the remake part II

Went from this:

To how it looks now:

Started a new job shortly after I restarted last time and ended up not having time to keep up with what I had started. Never bought new lights, never filled the C02 tank, I lost all 4 angels, BBA and hair algae set in, I HATE the tan Soilmaster Select (just because of the color), and I kinda lost interest.

Now that Im "in the groove" at work and things have settled into a routine, I have time for a tank again. Just in time too, it is becoming a mess again. Not as bad as last time, but its getting there.

I plan on cleaning everything out again. I have switched from a 2 bulb shop light to 4 10" clamp lights with CFLs. C02 tank is getting filled 2/15.

Wife got me a GoPro for my b-day back in Dec and I decided to get it wet for the first time. This little camera is actually what is driving me to clean the tank and get it looking good again. I want better videos!
Here is my first underwater vid:

Co2 tank is filled and hooked up to a power head for now. I think my solenoid valve is bad on my regulator. Is it replaceable? I have a Milwaukee MA957.
Parts for broken filter are ordered and on the way.
100lbs of black diamond blasting grit has been purchased (may go back for 50lbs more).

I plan on pulling everything out of the tank as soon as all my parts show up. The driftwood will get a nice pressure washing and the old soilmaster select will be replaced with the BDBG. Haven't decided on a lighting setup as of yet. I like the look of my 4 clamp lights, but I want to have enough light.
