Fan Algae?
I have this [Algae?] growing on my driftwood. I like the way it looks. It looks like small bright green fans. Since I like it and it isn't growing on any plants I don't really want to eradicate it just want to know what it is.

Ive heard from somebody it might be a fungus.......It doesnt seem to hurt anything...is very soft and delicate....grows in the dark, vanishes during the day ...started when i started overfeeding hikari algae wafers...
I honestly have NO idea what it is but its very interesting to watch...I can almost sit and watch it expand in to "fan" shapes. Over the course of a few hours it will go from about the size of a quarter to about 6" It used to be a lot worse when i was overfeeding, it doesnt come back as strong as it did but its still there.....Funny thing is some of my smaller fish like to nibble on it so i dont think its harmful to my tank, just weird.... |

I don't know how to post a picture. But I do have a digital camera. It does not look like the "247plants algae"

They really are shaped like a paper fan, as far as the triangular shape goes. Another words it spreads out from the attachment point in a flat fan-like shape. Maybe it's a type of moss?

I just looked at the "Algae guide" link provided on another post. It's none of the Algae pictured.
