Eheim pump head broke, anything I can do immediately??
Note, I just order a new top but for the sake of my fish, I hope I can have a temp solution.
I broke the top part of my Eheim 2215 awhile ago. I got away with just making it work with a hose clamp. I had been meaning to order a new one but it slipped my mind. I was wondering if anyone has fixed this as I seem to not be the only person this has happened to. I was wondering if I could drill it out and use some plumbing parts. Also, is their anything I can do to preserve the bio media if no other fix? As said, I have ordered the pump head, just hoping for a quick solution.

Do you mean the barbed fitting on the top of the canister? I think you have done all you can with the clamp set up. I've never seen anyone make a repair once it's broken off closer to the cover.
Temporarily you can either put your filter media in a fish bucket and use an air stone to keep the water agitated or place the media in mesh bags in your aquarium (after a quick rinse to remove dirt/debris). FWIW, you shouldn't need an entire pump head if just the fitting is broken. They sell the pump head cover separately without the actual motor.

You mean the plastic hose barb that sticks out the top? I had this happen on my 2211, and no matter what I tried, it still leaked. Too much pressure trying to squeeze water out of any crack in this area. If this is the part that broke, just order the pump head cover (the plastic lid). You don't need to replace the entire pump head motor assembly.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, it's the barb on top. Also, I did order just the cover, meant to say that. I wish I didn't have an appointment because I could have bought a big media bag. Didn't think about putting it in the tank. I am sure I have something laying around.

If the filter is not running just keep the tank full of water an run an air stone in it and in the tank
