Death in the family
Lost a Rabauti Cory this weekend. He was "flashing" for about two days two weeks ago. Thought it was ick. Treated with Coppersafe and 82 deg water. Started getting paler up to its death. No signs of white spots on it or any other fish. Params great. Should I be treating for something else?

plenty of garlic extract + heat in the water cures everything for me. I had a threadfin rainbow in my 6 gallon infect the entire tank with ich. 5 days with 0 light + high temp + garlic heavy food and extract in the water cured them. 0 Flashing after 2 weeks. 2 large water changes in 2 weeks.
all done. need to add, high temp = 86deg F

Pretty sure you are not supposed to use copper on cories or other scaleless fish.

You do have to follow the directions very closely - it's easy to overdose the water with copper. |

If all your other fish are fine, especially after two weeks, I wouldn't treat again with anything.

I did have 2 Serpae Tetras succumb to ick in January and did a treatment then also. The corys and all other fish handled the copper then. I did add an oto about the same time as the cory flashing. I still have 2 otos MIA.
