i love all my fish. my shy but, when exposed boisterous rubbernose pleco. my rainbow shark is a true beauty and his slow swimming is graceful to watch. i will be so sad on thursday when I give him away, he has grown to be the king of the tank and itsjust stressing whe whole tank. he is going to a good home, but i will be sad to see him go. my sole remaining platy has been with me from the begining, and once again is going to a new home full of other platys for him to play with but he wil b missed. my hi fin black skirt tetras school with the coolest of effects, andare truely a joy to watch. my 4 mrbled hatchetfish are scary with their escape artist tendancies, and can be a pain to feed but still, watching them frolic at the top of the tank gives it a true ecosystem feel, with every level of the tank teeming with life. my giant danios are one of my favs, they are the great danes of the fish world, playing and swimming as fast as they can all though the tank but with a stupid playfulness that you just have to smile at. my dojo loach with his calm demenor all times, but when he is soooo crazy and wild as soon as he is disturbed, and his movement through the water amazes me too (his mate died, so he is also being relocated to a new place who has 3 females for him to "bond" with.) my guppies are like the pugs of the fish world, truely the dumbest fish i have ever encountered, schooling with a female swordtail who hates their guts and turns to attack them, only to find that that turned with her because of the schooling behavior. it is the funniest thing I have ever seen. corys due to their ability to accept almost anything as one of their own, and almost everything will befriend them. and prince william, my single ghost shrimp who got in the net by acident so they just let me have him. one day, he was eating a big fish flake that sank to the bottum when my gigantic gold mystery snail decided he wanted it. the ghost shrimp tried as much as he could to pull the flake away from the snail, prolly 10 times his size and couldnt. then, he jumped on the snails back around him around for like 10 min. straight.

all in all, every fish has a great personality and always can find someone as facinated by their behavior as i am every day.

IMO nothing has more personality than puffers. They aren't called "Water Dogs" for nothing. Of the puffers, I LOVE MBU puffers! They are just so awesome!

I would also have to go with puffers. I had dwarf puffers for 3 years and they are still my favorite fish. So much personality.

Sorry, just wanted to point out that this isnt true. They arent cichlids, even though they definitely look pretty similar. They are a member of the Centrarchidae family, which includes all the sunfish, bluegill, crappie, and large and smallmouth bass.

Anyway, cool thread. I agree with what most people have said about puffers, by far the most personable fishes ive encountered, as a whole.

Depends how far back you want to look at it. Centrarchidae family belonging to the order Perciformes which cichlids fall under
