Neon Tetra Disease questions
Hi all, long time reader first time poster here.. I have a few questions about NTD that I hope someone can help with. I did a quick search though didn't find anything that matched my questions exactly.
So I've had an outbreak of this crappy disease So I guess my questions are: how do i go about sterilizing the tank so it can be used again, does it need to be cycled again or something? Will the driftwood absorb the disease, if so how do i sterilize it, or do i have to throw it out? Last but not least, will my bristlenose survive the disease, i know its "neon tetra disease" but ive read that its only named that due to it being found in neons firstly and other fish are vulnerable to it.. Also would my bio balls and filter sponge need to be thrown? Pre thanks to any help you can provide! Last edited by Mty; 03-20-2013 at 07:41 AM.. Reason: Added another question |

Hi Mty, welcome to the forum!
I've been able to fully control it by immediately culling all neons that show symptoms. If they're allowed to die in the tank, and the corpse is even partially eaten by other neons before it's discovered, the disease will spread - so now I eliminate that possibility. That's just my experience though, I'm by no means an expert on NTD.
