Fine tuning my TB tank before putting them in

I just tested my water and the AS seems to be finished leaching.
The Nitrates are between 5-10ppm. I can never read that test very well.
GH was 6, TDS was 140.

My questions are, are those Nitrates too high? I can do a huge WC before introducing any shrimp if so.
Should I get the GH down to 5 or is 6 ok? I have been putting the water in at GH of 5 so I'm wondering why it's 6 in the tank.
The TDS will be lower too if I lower the GH, will that be ok? I have always thought that the TDS shouldn't get too low, but what is too low?

Thanks!!

Find out the params of the breeder you are getting them from to see what you need to tweak.

I have them already and that's close to my other tanks params, but this tank is being created to be an optimal environment for them especially so I was hoping for that some who have had luck getting TBs specifically to thrive and breed, would chime in

I'd get the GH down to 5 so you have some freedom to move up if need be.

Other than that, parameters sound fine.

I agree with somewhat shocked and make sure your nitrates are 5 or less. I keep all mine at 0

One thing to add, and always beneficial, is time. Once you get the parameters to what you consider perfect, let the tank run for a week and see the parameters stay. You don't want to adjust it further once shrimps are in.

PS: if you can throw in some temporary residents in that one week, it helps too.

Thanks everyone, I added the 6 Zebra Otos who will be permanent residents there, and will get my nitrates down and bring down the GH a bit.. Fine tune for a week or so!

I let all my TB tanks run for 2 weeks once fully cycled with Zebra danos to make sure all is settled well

I let my CRS tanks run for almost a month with temp residents to let everything become perfect for them.
