Old and grey tanks.

What's your oldest tank? In means of the last time you did a total work out on it even if it was just a small reset by taking everything out but the substrate.

My last and only reset since I started my 300L (80g) tank a year ago wen I took all the plants out to fight a BBA invasion, some 6 months ago.

I don't vacuum as I like to have a jungle in there so it's hard to actually vacuum enough to matter.

my oldest is about 5 years old. i have drained it a few times, but never messed with the substrate and never pulled everything out to redo the plants, etc.

even when i drained it, i left enough water in it to keep the plants alive, so that probably doesnt count...

the oldest one before that was a ten gallon with a sand bottom i had from the time i was 8 till when i joined the army at 21. it went through more lights and filters than fish.

Default Old and grey tanks.

My oldest tank is a 5-year old Marineland Eclipse 12 which had old tank syndrome as of last September. This was when I has my great aquarium awakening.

I have always taken great care to make sure my pets had the best I could afford to give them--only to discover I was torturing my fish, this tank was horribly overstocked, and the water was clear, pretty--but when tested was in the deadly range.

Now I am just starting my fourth tank, and since my wake up call have been reading obsessively about fish and planted tanks, and bore most everyone around me to death talking about fish.

You mean you've not torn that tank down in 30 years?
If the OP meant the just the oldest tank then I've got 2 metaframes. And my original tanks except for one that sprung a leak. So the oldest tank I own that I bought new is 33 years young.

Not a viable excuse.

I just retired the 20g my parents had when I was born. It's been moved around a lot, and I didn't have it up very long this last time until I noticed bubbling in the glue. The filter that my parents originally bought for it last over 20 years too.

As for my oldest untouched tank.. currently that would be my 40g which has been up and running since November lol. Everything else has had a major overhaul since then.

This past weekend I had to empty this tank. I had decided to change the substrate the bottom was crazed, not cracked through--YET!Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1365613675.336916.jpg
