Algae Grower

Hello
Hey everyone, I've been browsing this forum for several months and have finally decided to join!
Quick pic of my work in progress. Bare bottom Apistogramma soft water breeding riparium. There are some plants in submerged terracotta pots. I bought the planters and riparium plants from ripariumsupply.com. The plants are all pretty new and still need to fill out a bit. Sent from my Android using Tapatalk 2 |

Are these real?

Looks nice! I used to breed borellii's as a kid, in coconut caves. That was a lot of fun.

That's looking real good! Are those riparium plants starting to root and grow yet.
Nice fish, too. How long have you had the fish going in there?

It looks as though that swordplant is doing the same thing that I have seen most kinds of swords do when grown emersed; it's trying to grow its underwater-form leaves.
I have tried quite a few different ones, but there were only three Echinodorus that did very well in the riparium planters:
Here's a 'Marble Queen' growing real well in my 50G setup...

Yeah maybe when I rescape the tank, I'll plant the sword. Its an atlandsberg sword, a hybrid from Germany.
I have a pair of apistogramma borellii and a pair of apistogramma cinilabra "loc 21" and 8 coral red pencil fish. This tank has been up for about 2 months. Currently its a bare bottom riparium with some plants submerged in pots. I will scape the inside sometime soon. Sent from my Android using Tapatalk 2 |

I must add, for anyone doing a planted tank you have got to try these pencil fish, they are truly a beautifully bright red.

Well Devin you were right! I removed the lilies as they were way to leggy, so the tacky shower caddie is gone. I trimmed up the plants a bit and spread the aluminum plants. Soon I'll be adding substrate and rescaping the tank.
