It looks just slightly better than mine in a low tech tank

It looks decent but there is a deficiency somewhere. How big is the tank and which size Ray2? I actually stopped using my Ray2 and moved on to T5HO.....getting much better growth and color out of my plants.

Maybe try lowering the light if you have it suspended. I wasn't getting good growth over my 24 inch 18 gallon and I was using the 24 ray2. Then again, most of my plants are toninas which require a ton of light.

Mine seem to be taking off and growing so much faster than anything else in my tank. The only fertz I have used so far is the TOTAl root tabs from aquariumplants.com and a DIY CO2 with T5 HO giesseman bulbs 1x39w aquaflora 6,700K and 1x39w aquablue+11,000K. I've had about 4-6" of growth over the past 3 weeks.

Sorry for the pic not trying to highjack your thread.

I must have some sort of nutrient deficiency then. Wonder what it could be. The legginess doesn't improve the closer it gets to the light either. I'm about ready to pull it out and Chuck it.

Try things and monitor how they affect the system. Cabomba will grow very full and very fast when you have the combination right

That is the wonderful thing about high-tech setups. Minor changes show their affects very rapidly in these over-driven systems, so it does not take long to see the changes (whether good or not).

If CO2 is non-limiting, perhaps you could try compressing your weekly WC/dosing schedule for a week and see how it responds:

(ie.)
- Increased WC's: 30-50% every other day or 2X/week.
- Increased dosing: Dose daily (macros and micros) @1.5X higher than normal water column nutrients. and (as always) ensure good flow in and through the stems. Ensure clean/stable/consistent water parameters.

They will respond quickly to changes in the environment.

Have fun.
