How much co2 on a 12g long?

I'm thinking due to the 36" length, the 12g allows for much more plants than a typical 10g-ish traditional sized tank, which begins to take it out of "nano" territory. So I'm wondering how long a 5lb tank might typically last on a 12 long?
Would you go smaller?

Running a bubble count of 1bps-2bps it should last several months.

30 ppm, or 30 parts per million. It is the only definitive measurement of CO2 concentration in a tank. BPS is not a good measurement. Too many factors affect total concentration.

The best way to determine if you're around 30 ppm is using a drop checker, a 4dKh solution, and a pH reagent.

The best way is to observe the plants and adjust as needed.

The OPs original question was how long would a 5lb tank last on a 12g, I am going to say over 6 months maybe even a year.

Thanks guys, appreciate it.

Since it's my office (work, not home), i'm trying to keep things as neat and hidden as possible. Maybe I'll go for a 2.5lb tank instead. 3+ months is a good run.

Get a drop checker. The more co2 the better but make sure your fishes don't gasp for air.
