i had long curly hair similar to urs in highschool, that being said i now opt for a more professional look
I trim with a 5 on the sides and back, and trm up high on my neck. i cut with an 8 on top and do a slight spike in the front.

I decided to get it cut shorter the other day and really like it. Might even go back and get it a little shorter on the sides.
