DIY Ornaments??

I am a little bit of a sonic fan and I have a plastic sonic charcter just gathering dust. I am curious if it is ok to put him in my fish tank. Is it ok to just place it in there as is or do I need to clear coat it. Or is there a better way. Any feed Back is appreciated.

i had a feeder guppy tank i used to use for stuff like this. if it didnt kill them in 2 weeks it got moved to main tank. all was ok. if really worried you can use a clear acrylic spray to coat it a couple time. just make sure it dries totally before a second coat. oh fyi every resin yard ornament i tested always did ok. but i never used anything that was painted. always more natural looking stuff
