Blue Rams spawning

I just noticed my pair of blue rams spawning on the substrate in the front corner of my tank. My question is what will the fertilized eggs look like. Unfortunately the male ate all the eggs. So I placed them in a small breeder box with a piece of driftwood that has some moss tied to it. I am thinking that he was doing that because they are in a community tank, but maybe I am wrong. They are pretty small and I think that this is the first spawn.

Default Blue Rams

So after the failed spawn, I placed some terracotta pot bottoms in the place where they had been hanging out. They have been seen around that area again since I placed them in the tank.

Then I placed my DIY breederbox in the tank so when they spawn again I can place the eggs in it till they get big enough to transfer to another tank. Of course all the plants except the moss will be removed prior to that. Just waiting to feel better to plant them.

So does anybody have any advice on if this will work.
