Grade of Cherry Shrimp

Hello, I'm just wondering what grade you would give my shrimp, if any at all. Thanks for all the help. By the way, its the more red one in the middle.

Default Grade of Cherry Shrimp

I personally wouldn't say Sakura.

If they're mostly like that, they're definitely chocolate shrimp.

But if they're mostly like the shrimp you weren't asking us about then they're just average cherry shrimp

Chocolates still grade the same as cherry though. From low grade to painted. I say sakura just because the legs aren't solid color so it's definitely not painted.

Since there's no real grading system for cherries it's tough.

There are some black chocolates, I wouldn't say they're just cherries.

I thought Sakura was just reserved for red cherries?

See, each person has their own understanding of what the grading scale is.

http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...re-Red-Shrimps

I guess my point was the color chocolate sometimes spontaneously happens in a red colony.

To me this would be painted because you can no longer see the saddle, however it would be a low grade painted because the legs have poor coloration.

If you mean the other male next to it, it would be plain cherry.

I've seen chocolates listed as sakura. Sakura is Japanese for cherry blossom so it makes more sense that cherry shrimp be rated as a sakura grade, but really, I don't see why it can't apply to chocolates as well.

As far as a grading system for cherries, I thought it was pretty well established. There's a handful of charts with examples that show the grades and they are all pretty much the same. I think the only thing that gets confusing is the multiple names for the highest grade even though they are all pretty much the same.

The only ones that look like this are the oldest females, all the males have some red but aren't as intense as these. After looking at the charts could this be a high grade sakura?

Didn't know what Sakura meant in Japanese! Thanks.

I still don't really know how industry wide the names go. I know between a lot hobbyists, there's some accepted things, but it just isn't like CRS yet. You get random sellers calling things painted fire trucks, ect.

If most females have that reddish brown tint, I think Sakura could be appropriate.
