before i got my ceramic diffuser i used a mini elite and a cigarette filter inside it in the end of the co2 line. when my elite broke i just put the co2 line with the cigarette filter and it still kept acceptable levels of co2. For some reason i couldn't find chopsticks and stumbled into the info on the net and it worked awesome. on some of my smaller 10g setups i only use the cigarette filter... works great IMO

Interesting idea. I shall try if little glass diffuse I got ebay doesn't work with diy Co2. They are under .50 on no ebay links allowed

. I drilled a hole into the side of my HOB's intake, placed the diffuser inside with the part that attaches to the CO2 line sticking out of the hole, and then attached the CO2 line, making the diffuser "inline".

I can see how it can work, but you would be losing a lot of co2 due to using a HOB filter.
