Frogbit roots are everywhere...

So my floaters are doing wonderfully. The dwarf water lettuce is healthy and the frogbit is already taking over. The roots are dragging on the substrate in my betta's 2.5 gallon. Some are getting close to the substrate in my 4 gallon. I moved the longest ones from my betta tank to the new 10 gallon. I can tell it won't be long before they reach the sand in there as well. What does one do with such long roots? I like the look of some hanging down, but all of them creates quite a forest for the critters to swim through. Does anyone trim the roots now and then?

The frogbit is doing so well I may have to RAOK some of it soon. I obviously don't have enough tanks yet to contain it all. LOL

You can trim the roots whenever. The reason why they grow so long is because they are looking nutrients in the water column.
