How long is to long?

I have had a bunch of berried shrimp in my blue velvet/crs mix tank but i never see babies. So i decided to grab a blue velet holding and separated her in a breeder net... The eggs are dark almost black.. it feels like she has been holding for a long time...i caught her around 2 plus weeks ago... what is normal is it 30 days? at what point should i see some eyes? If the eggs are black is that a problem or can i see eyes if they are so dark?

The eggs from my BV start yellow and turn red nearing hatching date. How long the eggs are held depends on multiple things including temperature. I've never seen black eggs.

I know cross breeds hang onto eggs longer... extremely rare, so is prob not the case here...however as said, I breed BVs and have never seen black eggs. (?)
