Moss flooring - Ceramic or Mesh

Heyas,

I've seen some cool looking moss / mini pellia covering.

In your experience, what is best, ceramic tiles or mesh sheeting ?

TIA.

I think the ceramic tiles look a little "nicer" before the moss/whatever has filled in, but in terms of growing either one works just as well. Plain stainless mesh is cheaper, of course.

I'd use the ceramic tiles, but I can be a bit on the overly-concerned side of things as to putting metal in the tank.

I'm surprised that mesh would be cheaper - if nothing else tiles would be much easier to get then stainless mesh (especially stainless of the proper grade).

No floors, but walls I have. I have big fish, with that said plastic mesh was a must for their protection, and I like how you can easily customize the holes to any shape, and size. Aluka inspired me

Plastic canvas, found at most craft stores, has holes of various sizes and comes in different colors. no metal required.
