HO refers to High Output, this is a powerful flavor of T5 bulbs.
VHO (imagine that!) stands for Very High Output, and is a version of T12 bulbs, which are becoming obsolete and replaced by more efficient T8, T6 and T5 bulbs.

While I know it's not "ready made", you could get a single AH Supply kit - one of the 2x55's. They also sell finished canopies, which would get you to "ready to use".
But I think it would be double your budget. $60 for kit, $20x2 for bulbs and whatever the canopy is - $20? $30? Already double the high end. I'd keep your existing lights and add additional lights. That way you can replace the old lights with another 2x55 kit when you get another chunk of change to spend. I think finding something used, ebay, aquabid, etc would be a place to look for stuff, though it might take some looking. Good luck! |

you could always buy a t5 strip. big al's has the coralife nes for like 46 bucks. two of those plus what you have now would work fine i think.
